Dr. Rick Dalrymple
Dr. 'Rick' has been in veterinary practice full time for 13 years. He graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2000, at which time he received an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Small Animal Medicine from the College. Even in those early years, Dr. Rick's gentle demeanor and accomplished bedside manner was noticed by his clinical Professors and Internists. To this day, he prides himself, not only on Excellence of Pet Medicine, but he also puts a major emphasis on owner Education, about their Pet's overall Health and Wellness.
He then went on to pursue an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship, to give him the skills necessary to be fully competent in his secondary passion, Equine medicine. Today, although dog and cat appointments and surgeries make up the vast majority of Dr. Rick's days, he still is active in General Equine medicine, especially Equine Dentistry.
Rick grew up on an acreage just Northeast of Calgary. It was during these formative years that Rick knew he wanted to pursue Veterinary medicine above all else as a career.
Dr. Rick and his family live in Okotoks, where he purchased Big Rock Animal Clinic in late 2009, and he will certainly be a permanent fixture at this Downtown Okotoks clinic for decades to come!
