Okotoks is a great community to call home, with all the small town charm and big city businesses and amenities you need. As the largest town in Alberta, we provide residents with a balance between the tranquility and resources they need to support their daily lives. Our town’s name is from the Blackfoot First Nation word for “rock,” which legend has it pays homage to the Okotoks Erratic Big Rock, a famous boulder weighing over 16,000 tonnes. In addition to other natural attractions, like the Sheep River Provincial Park and historical sites, we think Okotoks is the perfect place to continue to grow and develop your veterinary skills.
